DYNA-PURGE F is a non-abrasive, non-chemical "engineered" thermoplastic purging compound with a proprietary foaming agent, which allows for the purge to expand and scrub the screw and barrel, die, and other downstream equipment. The material is designed for extruders that have limited clearances related to screenpacks, mixing or metering devices, etc., when processing sheet, profile, and single-layer blown film.

SAFETY FIRST: Before performing this procedure, it is the machine operator's responsibility to be familiar with the equipment in use, to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, and to make sure that unauthorized persons are clear of the affected area.

SUGGESTED PROCEDURE FOR PURGING THE BARREL AND SCREW

  1. Maintain temperature / RPM settings for resident resin. Do not reduce settings (minimum 50 RPM setting).
  2. Thoroughly clean the hopper.
  3. Empty barrel and starve the screw of the resident resin.
  4. Aggressively meter Dyna-Purge, one scoop at a time, into empty hopper or side port. (Actual amount used depends on the condition of the machine prior to purging.)
  5. Purge continuously through the die opening. Do not stop and do not soak. Continue to add Dyna-Purge until the compound flushed out of the machine is clean and free of contamination.
  6. Immediately flush out Dyna-Purge with next resin, while making temperature adjustments for your production run.
  7. Start the production run with next resin.

Caution: Dyna-Purge F is designed for continuous processing. Do not use for shutdown or leave in barrel any longer than necessary.
